Information Request Form Instructions

You may request a copy of a recording of a 9-1-1 call, or a non emergent call into SORC by submitting your request in writing to Southern Oregon Regional Communications.  Along with your request, a $50.00 fee is required to compensate for the time spent by staff and/or our attorney for research and review.  This fee may not be refundable if the information is subsequently withheld from release, not found, or not picked up.  As per public record law, recordings may only be available for the past 7 months.  Crimes still under investigation will only be released with the permission of the investigating officer.  Medical information will be released only under HIPAA guidelines.

The standard processing time is usually 1 week to 3 weeks.  There are no guarantees for processing time so please plan accordingly. For questions or concerns call (541) 776-7186. If a cancellation request is received after the work has been completed, the fee will not be refunded.  

Once the Information Request is complete the recording, on CD will be mailed to the address you provided in the original request.

Requests must include, at a minimum:

  • Name, address, and telephone number of the requesting party
  • Date, approximate time, and location of the incident requested
  • Names of parties involved in the incident
  • Case number (if available)
  • Type of incident (i.e. Motor Vehicle Accident, Domestic Violence, etc…)

 

SORC Information Requests are for information related to a Jackson County 9-1-1 Emergency or Non-Emergency phone call. Other information related to an incident may be solicited from the responding police, fire or medical agencies.
